The Stephen King Project Announcement Post

It has come to my attention that Kathleen and Natalie are hosting The Stephen King Project, which is a year long reading challenge.
How could I resist? If you are a regular at my blog, you may have noticed that I *heart* Uncle Steve.

The Stephen King Project Overview:
1. This will run from January through December 2012
2. Anyone can join. But you should have a blog OR an account with Goodreads, Shelfari, etc., so you can write your reviews and we can visit via the link at The Stephen King Project.
3. The Project will be hosted at The Stephen King Project review site. Participants should link their reviews to the Linky there.
4. Audiobooks count.
5. E-books count.

What Are the Commitment Levels?
*A King Novice: 1 book
*A Lil Bit of King: 3 books
*A King to Balance It All: 6 books
*A King Legend: 9 books
*A King for All Seasons: 12+ books

What About the Movies?
*Hell. YEAH. Same rules from the above apply, except...
*You can mix and match but you should have more books than films in your end-of-year total tally.

I'm not signing up for a certain Commitment Level, I'll just read whatever suits my fancy. I do have 11/22/63, The Long Walk, Under the Dome and Full Dark, No Stars all sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read. I also have been wanting to re-read Misery.

Oh, yay! So excited to have you part of The Project! I loved 11/22/63 and I have Full Dark, No Stars downloaded to my Nook so I think I am going to read that in the next few weeks. Under the Dome is enticing me as well. Oh, it is going to be a fun year!

Welcome to The Project!

Good luck Naida! I do know how much you love Stephen King and because of you I own a few of his books! I should join this too really, just to read at least one of them.

I too want to read 11/22/63. I bet it's pretty awesome.

I read The Long Walk several years ago and loved it. I tried to read Roadwork, but was less than enthused and couldn't finish it.

Again, my project this year will be to read the uncut The Stand. It's my white whale.

Good luck Naida! I'm leaning towards joining this one. I also have Under the Dome and 11/22/63 to read and this would be the perfect opportunity.

viv: thanks, hopefully you will read one you enjoy.

pax: I've heard good things about 11/22/63.
I know you will conquer The Stand!

dar: thanks, I started Under the Dome then left it. I need to pick that one up again.
