Really Random Tuesday: A Trip to NYC and The Jodi Picoult Project

Really Random Tuesday is hosted by Suko.

I went to New York this weekend with a couple of my girlfriends and we had a nice day out. We ate lunch in Little Italy, shopped a bit and visited Chinatown. There's a bakery there we discovered on our last trip out that has some really tasty treats.
The weather was gorgeous, and before we knew it about 6 hours had passed. I didn't bring my camera along with me, but I did snap a few random pics with my iTouch.

I snapped this pic outside the Museum of Sex on 5th Ave. If you look through the window, you can see some skeletons in some interesting poses. Click on the picture for a better look. You know you want to :P

On a bookish note, Suko is hosting The Jodi Picoult Project.

This reading challenge will run from October 2011 through October 2012.

Can you recommend a Jodi Picoult for me to read? I have never read her before.

That's all for this Really Random Tuesday post. What are you up to today?

Sounds like a fun girls day out. I only ever read one Jodi Picoult book and listened to an audio one,

Naida, you're the best--Really Random Tuesday AND The Jodi Picoult Project, in one post! Thank you!!

Naida, I'm going to start reading The Pact as soon as I get it in the mail. But check out her website, she's written many books.

Your NYC photos are awesome! :)

Of course I clicked on the image :)

What fun to go out with your girlfriends. I know my vacation wasn't that long ago but work has been nuts since I've been back and I could do with another vacation now!

I've only read one Picoult book, My Sister's Keeper (I think that's right) and it was interesting but that ending drove me nuts.

New York City is such an amazing place to visit … but exhausting. So much to see and do … and EAT! And I've read quite a few Picoult books. My personal favorite is Her Sister's Keeper.

Glad you had a fun time in NYC! I was there for a part of the weekend too, catching up with family.

The Museum of Sex looks hilarious; I've never been inside, but maybe I'll visit there one day. The fact that they put skeletons in those poses looks a little creepy actually...

Glad you had fun in NYC!

I'd highly recommend My Sister's Keeper! I watched the movie too but of course we all know that the books are always better. :P

It must be so fun to be able to live close enough that you can visit New York when you want to :) A recommendation for Jodi Picoult...that is difficult. Have you seen the movie My Sister's Keeper? The book is WAY better if you have. I've read The Pact which was good and Nineteen Minutes which was good as well but my favorite was definitely My Sister's Keeper. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you choose!

What a great way to spend the weekend. I'm glad you had fun. I've read most of Picoult's books up until the last few and some of my favorites were Her Sister's Keeper, Plain Truth and The Pact.

gigi ann: it was a fun time :)
I still need to listen to an audio book, I think it will be perfect so I can crochet while I listen.

johanna: it was ;)

suko: lol...yes, I wanted to include both. I'm leaning toward My Sisters Keeper, but I am going to check out the author's website.

iliana: hi, glad to see you back. I know, its hard coming back after a nice vacation.

jenners and melody: a few people have recommended My Sisters Keeper.
Yes, NYC is always interesting.

blod: sounds great :)

hkatz: wasn't the weather perfect?
yes, the museum display was both creepy and fascinating. How clever.

sam and dar: thanks for the suggestions. I'm leaning towards My Sisters Keeper.

Naida,

I would go with the majority and say My Sisters Keeper. Overall I heave heard Nineteen Minutes is her best but I haven't read it.

I personally hated The Pact, won't recommend that one.

thanks Marce. I am leaning toward My Sisters Keeper.
