Really Random Tuesday is hosted by Suko.
According to the New York Times, these are the top ten books of 2010. Have you read any of these? I haven't, but I have seen two reviewed by fellow bloggers, Room and Cleopatra.
FREEDOM by Jonathan Franzen
THE NEW YORKER STORIES By Ann Beattie
ROOM By Emma Donoghue
SELECTED STORIES By William Trevor
A VISIT FROM THE GOON SQUAD By Jennifer Egan
APOLLO’S ANGELS: A History of Ballet By Jennifer Homans
CLEOPATRA: A Life By Stacy Schiff
THE EMPEROR OF ALL MALADIES: A Biography of Cancer By Siddhartha Mukherjee
FINISHING THE HAT: Collected Lyrics (1954-1981) With Attendant Comments, Principles, Heresies, Grudges, Whines and Anecdotes By Stephen Sondheim
THE WARMTH OF OTHER SUNS: The Epic Story of America’s Great Migration By Isabel Wilkerson
They also have a notable books of 2010 list here.
Among them are THE GIRL WHO KICKED THE HORNET’S NEST By Stieg Larsson, THE LOTUS EATERS By Tatjana Soli and LIFE By Keith Richards.
My current reads:

I'm reading The Lotus Eaters as part of the TLC book tour in January. What a lovely cover and intriguing read, I'm excited about this one.

I'm wrapping up my 2010 reads with Blood of my Brother by James LePore and I truly enjoyed this one. It's set in my hometown of New Jersey and I got a kick out of seeing the characters at different locations I'm familiar with.
Tomorrow I'll be posting my review of WANTED UNDEAD OR ALIVE: Vampire Hunters And Other Kick-Ass Enemies of Evil and Thursday my review of Here on Earth will be up.
I'm also working on my 2010 wrap-up post. I've seen a few bloggers have theirs up already and I do enjoy reading everyones lists of favorites and not so favorites.
Lastly, we had a snow day yesterday. I got to stay home with hubby and the children as we were snowed in with 24 inches here.
The white stuff started falling Sunday around noon and didn't stop until Monday morning. We were declared to be in a state of emergency and thankfully all businesses were closed.
This is the view from my front door.
My youngest was excited to play in the snow.
It was back to the old grind today but I'm very grateful to have had Monday off :) Enjoy your Tuesday everyone.

I can't believe all that snow! It is beautiful, but I know it makes getting anywhere very difficult. Wow!
Great RRT post! I am happy to see that The Lotus Eaters is at least on the notable list. And I do want to read Life, as I've previously mentioned, and more of the Millennium trilogy by Larsson. I have just added your post to my RRT post, Naida. Thanks for making my Tuesday!
What a nice coincidence, Naida! I'm currently reading The Lotus Eaters too! :) I'm enjoying it; it's intense!
The snow is beautiful! Stay safe and keep warm!!
Our 12 inches of snow is already melting pretty quickly so hopefully your will do the same.
Apollo's Angels sounds great as does Cleopatra. Schiff spoke at the Philadelphia library and there is an mp3 file of her talk on their home page. Very interesting listening. I will be checking out Schiff's books. http://www.freelibrary.org/
I cannot imagine all that snow! I was watching the news and it just looks incredible.
And, no haven't read any of the top 10 books. I'm always so behind. Looking forward to your list of top books! I'm still trying to put my list together :)
What this tells me is that all my reading is NOT on the popular or best of lists!
I have only heard of 2 from that list...and gonna read Room next year
I haven't read any of that Top Ten List.
I'm so glad we haven't had that much snow yet. I'm not a big fan of winter.
Wow, so much snow! There are quite a few of these that I haven't read yet.
I haven't read any of them either; I realize that over the course of the year I've veered primarily into short stories - so if any are short story collections (and a couple seem like they might be) then I'll check them out.
Thanks for sharing this!
Snow is beautiful, and when I was a youngster I loved to go play in it. Wouldn't go in the house until my toes were so cold they got numb.
I posted my wrap-up post for 2010 today.
I haven't read any of these. I'm so ashamed.
I'm going to make it my resolution to read at least one new book every month that I wouldn't normally pick for myself.
thank you everyone. the snow is still melting....
I'm looking forward to reading all of your end of year wrap ups as well.
The Lotus Eaters is really making its way around the blog-o-sphere
jenny girl: I'll have to check out that link

thank you suko, your Random Tuesdays meme is a fun way to get in these odds and ends
I haven't heard of any of those books but I do know about ROOM. I haven't read it, though. The snow is beautiful!
All of our snow is gone now. That view from your door is stunning!
